The dunes/Дюните, 2023 - watercolor painting print
The dunes/Дюните - watercolor, originally painted on 100% cotton Hahnemühle paper, size A5
This one has a funny story to it and a one to remember for me. While my family and I were at the beach one sunny August day, all of a sudden grey clouds accumulated in a matter of minutes and it started lightly raining. I knew we had to get our stuff and leave before it started pouring. I was staring into the distance with my face towards the dunes and mountains in the far distance while the sea was behind me intentionally, because I really wanted to memorize the view and paint it later in my sketchbook after the beach. Then it started heavily poring and we had to leave in an instant. I had some help to quickly change behind my car and put my shoes on (cus we were visiting Sozopol after the beach) and just jump into the car with my hair still wet... It was so much fun that day and that sense of adventure is something this painting always brings me back to. That's why I love this piece so much!
