Pamporovo dam, 2026 - watercolor painting

Pamporovo dam, format 31/41cm watercolor on 100% cotton LANA paper, unframed

On a lovely summer day back in August 2025 my family and I were hiking in the woods and we found this dam I never knew about (and we've been to Pamporovo probably hundreds of times.) (Pamporovo is a all-year round resort in the Bulgarian Rhodopa mountain, famous for its great ski tracks during winter - for those who don't know). I was so mesmerized by all the beauty the scenery had to offer, the clear water and some very thick trouts swimming around that I had to capture it later on. I'm always impressed and get inspired by the movements of water, reflections and the connection between all the colors. This piece reminds me of this amazing place and brings me a sense of serenity, calmness and a quiet smile.
