New beginning, 2025 - original Oil painting

New begining, 2025, oil on canvas, size 30/40cm, unframed

This painting came to be while being on a course I decided to attend, to see if I could learn a new technique or two in oil painting. I had not touched oils for 4 years at the time (for personal and heavily emotional reasons) - which was at the beginning of 2025. After I participated in this course, I realized that not having enough time for painting is just another excuse not to start, and that was exactly my turning point. I decided I would pick up the brushes again and rediscover my lost joy and passion for oils.

This painting reminds me how it feels when you start a piece, how it feels while you're mixing paint, applying it on the canvas and what it's like to finish one.
